Incredible Adventures to Tick off your Bali Bucket List
We launched and tested the application in vibrant Bali. Bali (usually) attracts a lot of visitors, many eager to explore the island, and was, therefore, the perfect location to get started.
Are you still wondering where to get your kicks on your next Bali trip? Sun, sea, and beach not enough for you? Bali is incredibly diverse and it is a great place to let your inner adventurer out. Here are some incredible adventures to tick off your bucket list:
Get the surfing bug
Bali is a surfers paradise! From beginner’s waves up to amazing tube rides over the reef, there is the perfect spot for everyone! If you’re totally inexperienced, start your surf adventure in Legian, Seminyak, or Canggu. There are plenty of surf schools and the conditions are usually perfect for beginners: the waves are not too powerful and they roll in a straight line to the shore. In no time, you are standing on your board, feeling the vibe, ready to take on the next level. Experienced surfers will love Uluwatu, Nusa Lembongan, and places on the west coast of Bali such as Balian and Medewi. Rent a scooter with a surf rack and go from one famous surf spot to another. You could find yourself becoming one of those travelers who come back to Bali again and again, year in year out.
Wildwater fun on the river: rafting and canyoning
Once you’ve got the hang of surfing, it is time for some more water fun but this time it’ll be on the rivers in Bali. You can go rafting on the Ayung River near Ubud or explore the rafting trail in East Bali on the slightly more challenging Telaga Waja River, both are great fun and beautiful rides through unspoiled nature. There are parts where you can swim in the cool water of the river which is super refreshing or even takes a shower beneath a cascading waterfall. If you can’t get enough of these river adventures, go canyoning in North Bali. Zip lining, abseiling, and sliding down waterfalls, sound pretty good, doesn’t it?!

Go diving
Sorry, but there are more waters to be explored - you are holidaying on a tropical island, after all. The island of Bali is home to many diving schools, taking you to the best spots around the island. Highlights include Menjangan Island in the west of Bali (West Bali National Park), Amed & Tulamben in the east, and several spots around Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Penida. Is diving not your thing? Not to worry - you can also go snorkeling at these spots. They’re all incredible and you can spot Mantas, whale sharks, sunfish, turtles, and many more amazing sea creatures.
Hiking to the summit of Mount Batur
Even if you’re not a natural early riser, how about skipping a night of sleep to hike up to the peak of Mount Batur? This journey starts just after midnight with a pick-up at your hotel/villa. The hike takes around 4 hours, perfectly timed to reach the summit before the dusk of dawn. Sunrise from Mount Batur is an unforgettable experience, incredibly beautiful - almost magical!
Rent a motorbike and follow the horizon
Traveling at your own time and pace, not dependent on public transport and expensive drivers, renting a motorbike is not only convenient and cheap, but it is also one of the greatest adventures you can take on! Completely free to venture off-the-beaten-trail and stop wherever you feel like, you can drive along the coastline just chasing the horizon, through rice paddy fields, mountains, and valleys - It is the best way to see the island and you’ll be creating memories to last for a lifetime.
